South Central Railway is set to introduce another significant train service connecting Telangana and Assam. A new Amrit Bharat Express train with Sleeper and General Second Class coaches will operate between Charlapalli in Telangana and Kamakhya, a famous pilgrim destination in Assam. The train is scheduled to commence its inaugural journey from Kamakhya on March 13, 2026. This new service will directly connect Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with Assam, strengthening railway connectivity between the regions.
As Assam serves as a gateway to the seven sister states of Northeast India, the new train will greatly benefit long-distance passengers travelling to the northeastern parts of the country. The service is expected to provide a safe, comfortable and cost-effective travel option. During its journey through Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the train will halt at Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram Junction, Pendurti, Duvvada, Samalkot Junction, Rajahmundry, Tanuku, Bhimavaram Town, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Guntur and Nalgonda stations in both directions.
