Action Sought Against Misuse Of Authority !

During recent Legislative Council meetings with concerned ministers, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy expressed serious concern over the widespread misuse of VIP stickers on vehicles. He stated that people are freely pasting stickers bearing titles such as Police Commissioner, MLA, MP, and MLC on their number plates and urged officials to identify such vehicles and take strict action. He pointed out that during the Sankranti season, several vehicles were found violating traffic rules and evading toll payments using unauthorized stickers, causing inconvenience to common citizens.

Officials noted that although public representatives were earlier issued a limited number of official stickers, their misuse has increased significantly in recent times. Complaints have been received regarding unauthorized vehicles engaging in illegal activities, including toll evasion and traffic violations involving cars, bikes, autos, and vehicles fitted with illegal black mufflers. Police have stated that cases are being registered against those misusing official stickers and unauthorized vehicles, and strict enforcement will continue in accordance with High Court directions.
