A second-year Intermediate student from Visakhapatnam, fearing failure in his examinations, made a distress call to board officials even before the results were announced on Wednesday. During the call, the student pleaded to be passed by any means and admitted that he had inserted money into his answer sheets. He also confessed that he had not prepared for the exams and had written the same question paper three times.
The officials counseled the student over the phone, advising him to focus on the upcoming advanced supplementary examinations and prepare well. They immediately alerted the Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) in Visakhapatnam and instructed that his parents be informed. District authorities later spoke to the student’s parents, who confirmed that he was at home and assured officials that they would take proper care of him. The student had already failed two subjects in his first year and three subjects in his second year.
