Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sharing key suggestions on women’s reservation. He clearly stated that women’s reservation, delimitation and the increase in Lok Sabha seats are separate issues and should not be mixed. He urged the central government to implement women’s reservation immediately, as it has wide support across the country.
Revanth Reddy also expressed concern over delimitation and its impact, especially on southern states. He warned that increasing Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 850 based on population could reduce the importance of southern states. According to him, states that have contributed more to development may lose influence, while states with higher population could gain more power.
He also wrote to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, asking southern states to stand united on this issue. He suggested considering a balanced approach so that justice and equality are maintained for all states. He emphasized that decisions should be taken carefully to protect the interests of every region.
