Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu announced that the state government is bringing a ₹1.02 crore accident insurance cover for all government employees. He issued an official statement on Friday evening, stating that employee welfare remains a top priority for the people’s government.
He said the government views its employees as part of one family, as they play a key role in taking welfare and development programmes to every household under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Bhatti Vikramarka added that consultations with leading bankers in the state have been completed to operationalise the ₹1.02 crore accident insurance scheme for government staff.
Despite financial challenges, the Deputy CM said the government is clearing pending dues from the previous regime in a phased manner every month. He recalled that accident insurance of over ₹1 crore has already been implemented for employees of Singareni and power utilities, benefiting nearly 38,000 Singareni workers and over 71,000 electricity department employees. On similar lines, the government is now extending the ₹1.02 crore accident insurance to all government employees.
