Telugu Community's Remarkable Success on American Soil - Aruna Miller

The 19th American Telugu Association (ATA) Conference and Youth Convention began on a grand note in Baltimore, Maryland, bringing together Telugu people from across the United States. Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, the chief guest, praised the remarkable achievements of the Telugu community in the US. She proudly said Maryland is the only state with both the first Black Governor and a Lieutenant Governor of Telugu origin. Beginning her speech with “Namaskaram” in Telugu, she welcomed delegates from around the world and appreciated ATA President Jayanth Challa, Conference Convener Sridhar Banala, sponsors, volunteers, and guests for making the event a success.

Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy urged NRIs to never forget their motherland despite achieving global success. He said ATA has played a vital role in promoting Telugu culture and strengthening the Telugu community worldwide. He also conveyed that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy could not attend due to unavoidable reasons. The conference was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and featured cultural performances led by singer Sunitha, celebrating Telugu heritage, leadership, and unity.
