A fresh petition has been filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court concerning the conduct of local body elections in the state. The petitioner has alleged that the online nomination facility, despite being available, is not being implemented for municipal and municipal corporation elections. The petition raises objections to the non-use of the online nomination system and urges attention to its implementation in the election process.
The petition reportedly states that 187 incidents of clashes occurred due to the failure to implement the online nomination system. The Andhra Pradesh High Court is scheduled to hear the matter tomorrow. The hearing is expected to bring attention to the nomination process, the use of online facilities in local body elections and the disputes cited in the petition. Further clarity on the allegations is expected after the court takes up the matter.
