Former Telangana minister and BRS Deputy Floor Leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav has criticised the Election Commission over alleged lapses in the ongoing graduate voter registration drive. On October 26, 2026, a BRS delegation led by Talasani submitted a representation to Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy, highlighting concerns about the registration process. Talasani said the responsibility for ensuring voter registration rests entirely with the Election Commission. He alleged that despite the possibility of seeking assistance from central and state government employees, the Commission had failed to take adequate steps to facilitate the process.
Talasani further pointed out that the registration deadline is November 6, but Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had reportedly not been appointed and sufficient awareness campaigns had not been conducted. He also criticised the Commission over alleged voter deletions during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, claiming that it was not adequately addressing the concerns. The BRS leader urged the Election Commission to take immediate action, conduct door-to-door outreach and ensure that every eligible graduate gets an opportunity to register as a voter before the deadline. These allegations were made by the BRS delegation in its representation to the Chief Electoral Officer.
