Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu has stressed that there will be no exceptions to alliance discipline among coalition partners. He called on party leaders to ensure that the alliance wins local body elections across the state. During a teleconference with TDP leaders on Monday morning, Chandrababu discussed preparations for the upcoming local elections and the need for better coordination among alliance partners. He urged leaders to highlight the government’s implementation of promises made during the 2024 elections, along with its welfare initiatives, development programmes and governance measures. He also directed them to intensify the party’s “We Promised, We Are Delivering” campaign to communicate the government’s achievements to the public.
Chandrababu said the coalition government had expanded welfare and development programmes and made public services more accessible since assuming office. He asked party leaders to explain the benefits of these initiatives to people across all regions and communities. He also called on workers of the alliance parties to act as a bridge between the government and the public and maintain coordination at the grassroots level. According to the report, he assured leaders who could not contest due to alliance arrangements, reservations or social considerations that they would be considered for nominated posts. He further instructed party workers to ensure that every voter reaches the polling booth and urged them to secure more votes at every booth than the alliance received in the 2024 elections. Chandrababu also criticised the YSRCP over its previous tenure and made remarks about its leadership.
