Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of treating Telangana as an ATM and alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was acting like an ATM card. He criticised the Congress for allegedly failing to fulfil its election promises, including six guarantees and 13 declarations, despite nearly 1,000 days having passed since the government took office. On Sunday, minority leader Jibran Sharif from the Khairatabad Assembly constituency joined the BRS in the presence of KTR at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. Addressing the gathering, KTR questioned whether Rahul Gandhi remembered the promises he had made to unemployed youth at Ashok Nagar before the elections. He also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s alleged silence over corruption allegations in the state. KTR demanded that Revanth Reddy respond to allegations involving land and business agreements linked to members of the Chief Minister’s family and disclose details of a reported ₹1,000-crore business deal.
KTR further alleged that the government was using what he described as false cases to intimidate those who raised public concerns. He accused the BJP at the Centre of creating divisions among people and the Congress government in Telangana of exploiting the public. Expressing confidence in the BRS’s political prospects, he said K. Chandrashekar Rao would become Chief Minister again in 2028. Former ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mahmood Ali and other leaders attended the event. Separately, a group of young lawyers who had recently entered the legal profession met KTR at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday. He urged them to register their names on the graduate voters’ list and support the BRS candidate in the elections.
