The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a mix of rainfall and heatwave conditions across Telangana over the next few days. While several districts are likely to receive rainfall on Friday and Saturday, some northern districts may continue to experience high temperatures and heatwave conditions. The department stated that the southwest monsoon is advancing actively and is expected to cover the entire state within the next two days. In addition, a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal and a trough extending from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal are influencing the weather pattern across the region.
Under the impact of these systems, heavy rainfall was recorded in several parts of Telangana between Wednesday and Thursday morning. The highest rainfall of 11.1 cm was reported in Kallur of Khammam district. At the same time, heatwave conditions persisted in parts of the state, with Dandepalli in Mancherial district recording a maximum temperature of 42.9°C. The weather department has warned that isolated heatwave conditions may continue in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, and Peddapalli districts during Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
