Starbucks to Set Up Its First Overseas Tech Hub in Chennai!

Starbucks has chosen Chennai as the location for its first corporate technology hub outside the United States. The company announced that the new hub will support its global business and work closely with technology and business teams in the US and other international locations. Starbucks said the decision was influenced by Chennai’s deep technology talent pool, strong employee retention, long-term business potential and established engineering ecosystem.

The company is still in the early stages of setting up the centre and plans to begin local recruitment in phases. Starbucks expects recruiting to begin in the first quarter of its upcoming financial year, with further details to be announced as plans progress. The new technology operation will become part of Starbucks’ broader global technology network rather than function as a standalone team. It will also operate separately from Tata Starbucks, the company’s retail joint venture in India.
