US Vice President JD Vance has said that the ongoing war with Iran was a major factor behind the Republican Party’s defeat in the midterm elections. He stated that President Donald Trump had also acknowledged the conflict’s impact on the election outcome. Vance further observed that voters who supported Trump in the 2024 presidential election had changed their political preferences.
According to Vance, dissatisfaction over the Iran war prompted some voters who had previously backed the Republicans to vote for the Democrats. He also pointed out that the shift was evident among traditional Republican supporters. His remarks suggest that public dissatisfaction over the conflict and its economic consequences played a role in the party’s electoral setback.
