Although the Southwest Monsoon has not officially entered Telangana yet, its impact is already being felt across several districts. Moderate rainfall was recorded in Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Yadadri, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, and Narayanpet districts. Tandur in Vikarabad district received the highest rainfall of 5.1 cm. In Hyderabad, sudden evening showers brought relief from the heat, while waterlogging in some areas led to traffic congestion.
At the same time, weather conditions remain contrasting across the state. While southern Telangana districts witnessed cooler temperatures due to rainfall, northern districts continue to experience intense heat. Bejjur in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the highest temperature of 44°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert and predicted rainfall activity for the next week. The monsoon has already advanced into parts of Andhra Pradesh and is expected to enter Telangana within the next two days.
