Some film scripts are written with a particular actor in mind, but casting plans can change along the way. Garividi Lakshmi, a biopic based on the life of Reddy Vijaya Lakshmi, the renowned Burra Katha artist from Uttarandhra popularly known as Garividi Lakshmi, is one such example. Director Gowri Naidu Jammu recently revealed at the film’s success meet that he initially narrated the story to Sai Pallavi. The script was later taken to Nivetha Thomas and Nithya Menen as well. However, he explained that certain terms and conditions prevented the actresses from accepting the role.

The role eventually went to Anandhi, whose performance has received appreciation from audiences. The director also expressed his gratitude to Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory for the strong support extended to the film. Despite receiving positive appreciation, Garividi Lakshmi has not delivered encouraging box-office collections. Rag Mayur, Naresh, Raasi and LB Sriram are among the other actors who appear in the film, which features music composed by Charan Arjun.
