Director KS Ravikumar watched Jailer 2 with his family at Phoenix Mall and praised the Rajinikanth-starrer for its entertainment value. He said the first half was enjoyable, while the second half delivered mass moments in abundance. According to him, the film is a complete Rajinikanth entertainer that audiences can enjoy, with fans likely to love it even more. He also shared that his nephew, a Rajinikanth fan, watched the film four times in three days. Ravikumar highlighted the iconic title-card music originally composed by Deva, explaining that AR Rahman wanted to retain its signature tune while adding more musical layers. He recalled that the Baashha title card was continued for Muthu because there was not enough time to create a new animated version.
Speaking about Jailer 3, Ravikumar said he did not know when the next instalment would be made, as both Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar have several commitments. He mentioned that Nelson is working on the KHxRK project, expected to bring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth together. Ravikumar suggested that Jailer 3 could move forward after their current commitments are completed. He added that the next instalment could feature several actors, but its success would ultimately depend on the content and the scenes created for the film.
