BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao welcomed the opening of the Sanath Nagar TIMS hospital, describing it as a significant step towards providing free, corporate-level healthcare to the poor. In a post on X, KTR said the hospital was envisioned during the previous BRS government under former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and was developed with the aim of creating TIMS hospitals across Hyderabad on the lines of AIIMS. He highlighted the hospital’s extensive infrastructure, including 1,000 beds, 300 ICU beds, 16 operation theatres, an organ transplantation department, MRI, CT scan, X-ray, cath labs, radiology and dialysis facilities.
KTR said the Sanath Nagar facility would benefit not only Hyderabad residents but also critically ill patients arriving from different districts for treatment in the state capital. He congratulated the engineers, doctors, nurses and other staff associated with the hospital. KTR also recalled the BRS government’s healthcare initiatives, including 350 Basti Dawakhanas and plans for hospitals with 4,000 beds and 1,200 oxygen-supported emergency beds. At the same time, he criticised the Congress government, alleging that the opening of TIMS facilities had been delayed for political reasons, and urged it to expedite the opening of the Alwal and LB Nagar TIMS hospitals, complete the 2,000-bed Warangal super-speciality hospital and speed up the NIMS expansion works in Hyderabad.
