The third day of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka in Galle ended with India firmly in control. After posting 462 in their first innings, India bowled Sri Lanka out for 284, securing a commanding 178-run lead. Manav Suthar led the bowling attack with four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja claimed three. Sri Lanka’s Sonal Dinusha fought back with a century, but the Indian spinners kept the hosts under pressure and eventually wrapped up the innings.
The day was also special for Ravindra Jadeja, who reached the landmark of 350 Test wickets. He became only the fifth Indian bowler to achieve the milestone and the first Indian left-arm bowler to take 350 wickets in Test cricket. Jadeja also joined an elite group of all-rounders to have scored more than 4,000 Test runs and taken at least 350 wickets, alongside Kapil Dev, Ian Botham and Daniel Vettori.
