Safe Sports Telangana Initiative Launched

The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) has launched the ‘Safe Sports Telangana’ initiative as part of the Telangana Sports Policy–2025 to create a safe, inclusive, and athlete centric sporting environment across the state. Recognising that athletes perform at their best only in a secure environment, SATG has introduced a comprehensive safeguarding policy to ensure their physical and mental well-being.

As part of the programme, a consultation meeting was held at Gachibowli Stadium, where over 120 coaches participated in awareness sessions led by experts from UNESCO and Yugantar. The discussions focused on athlete welfare, preventing harassment and abuse, strengthening complaint redressal systems, and promoting values such as respect, inclusion, and safety. Another consultation with sports administrators and stakeholders is scheduled for Monday.
