Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the Irrigation Department officials to continue consultations with the Maharashtra government on the proposed Thummidihatti barrage. During a review meeting held at his Jubilee Hills residence, in the presence of Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and senior officials, the Chief Minister sought details of the recent discussions with Maharashtra. He instructed officials to keep comprehensive information on the land likely to be submerged ready and submit copies of the agreements already reached, along with other relevant project documents, to the Maharashtra government.
Revanth Reddy said Telangana was prepared to pay appropriate compensation for land that would be submerged in Maharashtra due to the project. He also assured that the state was willing to deposit the required funds in a joint account to facilitate the process. The Chief Minister said Telangana had no objection to Maharashtra conducting a survey to assess the land likely to be affected and asked irrigation officials to provide the information sought by their Maharashtra counterparts without delay. Irrigation Adviser Adityanath Das and other senior officials attended the review meeting.
