Over 20 Lakh Candidates Appear for NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination

The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination on Sunday, with more than 20 lakh candidates appearing across 5,440 examination centres in India and 14 centres overseas. The medical entrance examination was held in 13 languages, including English and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

NTA stated that comprehensive arrangements were made for all candidates, including over 10,000 Persons with Disabilities. Special provisions were also extended to 81 candidates with medical conditions, including a child recovering from a road accident and another undergoing chemotherapy. To ensure transparency and security, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, facial authentication, CCTV surveillance, signal jammers, and two-layer frisking supported by State Police were implemented across all examination centres.
