India has achieved another significant milestone in strengthening its defence capabilities. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted a test of the indigenously developed 'Pralay' quasi-ballistic missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed happiness over the successful test and congratulated the DRDO team. He highlighted the achievement as an important step towards strengthening India's indigenous defence capabilities.
Pralay is an indigenously developed short-range missile capable of carrying a payload weighing between 500 and 1,000 kilograms. Equipped with an advanced navigation system, the missile is designed to strike designated targets with high accuracy. Its successful test marks another important development in India's missile technology programme. The achievement also reflects the country's continued efforts to strengthen self-reliance in defence manufacturing and enhance its overall military capabilities.
