Mysterious Object Spotted Over Iran Sparks ‘Black Manta’ Aircraft Speculation

A mysterious object spotted in Iranian skies has triggered speculation amid renewed tensions between the United States and Iran. Videos reportedly showed a large, crescent-shaped object with bright, colourful lights over Tehran on September 20, followed by another video showing a group of lights flying over Zahedan the next day. The unusual appearance led to several theories, including suggestions that it could be an unidentified drone or another type of aircraft. Some observers have linked the sightings to the so-called “Black Manta”, a purported secret US aircraft that has circulated in speculative reports for years. However, there is no publicly verified evidence confirming the existence of such an aircraft, and the US government has not acknowledged any “Black Manta” aircraft.

Theories surrounding the alleged aircraft have also included claims about advanced propulsion, anti-gravity technology and plasma-based systems. Some speculative accounts suggest that such technology could allow an aircraft to change speed and direction rapidly or avoid conventional radar detection. A US research group has previously discussed the idea of a highly classified, quiet reconnaissance aircraft, but these claims have not been independently verified.
