The ten IPL franchises are preparing to submit their retention lists ahead of the upcoming mini-auction, with November 17 set as the deadline. Teams must decide which players they want to retain and whom they intend to release. Player movements through trades are also attracting attention, with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings reportedly making changes to their squads. There have also been reports of a possible trade involving Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh. Amid these developments, former India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has shared his predictions about potential releases across franchises.
Pujara believes Kolkata Knight Riders could release Cameron Green, who was acquired for ₹25.20 crore, and potentially try to buy him back at the auction. He also expects Chennai Super Kings to consider releasing Matt Henry and Matthew Short. According to his assessment, Gujarat Titans may review the positions of Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan, while Sunrisers Hyderabad could release Jaydev and Harshal Patel. Punjab Kings may part ways with Arshdeep Singh, Xavier Bartlett and Lockie Ferguson. Pujara also expects Lucknow Super Giants to release Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni, while Prithvi Shaw and Karun Nair could feature on Delhi Capitals' release list. He feels Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals may largely retain their existing squads. These are Pujara's predictions, and the official retention lists are yet to confirm the moves.
