A major player trade is reportedly taking place ahead of the upcoming IPL season, with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya set to leave Mumbai Indians and join Punjab Kings. Although there had been speculation linking him with franchises such as Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings have reportedly finalised the deal. The franchise has officially announced Hardik's inclusion, according to the available report. The agreement involves a player swap, with BCCI approval still awaited.
As part of the deal, Punjab Kings' pace spearhead Arshdeep Singh is set to join Mumbai Indians. Hardik is expected to play under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy and strengthen Punjab's middle order and bowling options. Meanwhile, Arshdeep's arrival is expected to boost Mumbai's pace attack, particularly in the death overs. The trade could significantly reshape both teams ahead of the new season, although the final approval from the BCCI remains a key step.
