Rohit Sharma Scripts History, Breaks Shahid Afridi’s ODI Sixes Record

Team India star Rohit Sharma created history in the second ODI against New Zealand by becoming the batter with the most sixes against the Kiwis in the format. Rohit scored 23 runs off 28 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes. With those two maximums, he took his tally to 51 sixes against New Zealand, surpassing former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who previously held the record with 50 sixes. West Indies legend Chris Gayle occupies third place with 45 sixes.

In overall international cricket, Chris Gayle leads the list of batters with the most sixes against New Zealand, having hit 87. Rohit Sharma is currently second with 85 sixes and could surpass Gayle’s record during the ongoing ODI series.
