Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for attacks on several locations in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the targets included King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Aramco oil facilities and other strategic infrastructure. According to the spokesperson, the attacks were carried out using ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones, in retaliation for Saudi strikes on a market in Yemen’s Taiz province on Friday.
Saree said the initial operation targeted the airport in Riyadh, Aramco oil storage tanks and a distillation tower. The Houthis subsequently launched attacks on oil facilities in the Khurais region and an oil pumping station in Dawadmi. He also claimed that Saudi military personnel and installations were targeted, including a National Guard camp in Najran, where he alleged that the strikes caused significant casualties. Saree further accused Saudi forces of carrying out air and missile strikes on 105 locations across Yemen in the preceding 24 hours, claiming that more than 30 civilians were killed, most of them women and children. These claims have not been independently verified in the information provided.
