Minor Couple Dies by Suicide in K. Kotapadu

A tragic incident was reported in K. Kotapadu on Thursday, where a minor boy and girl from the Pendurthi area of Visakhapatnam died by suicide. According to police, the two had been in a relationship for some time, but their families had reportedly opposed it. The couple had previously left their homes on several occasions, following which the Pendurthi police counselled them and advised them to wait until they reached adulthood.

Despite their families assuring them that they could consider marriage after attaining adulthood, the two reportedly left home again recently and travelled to K. Kotapadu, where the boy’s grandmother lives. Police said the couple were found dead near a well close to Paidamma Cheruvu. A suicide note was recovered from the scene. K. Kotapadu SI Dhanunjaya said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The boy was studying in the second year of Intermediate, while the girl had discontinued her first-year studies.
