A series of shootings at three different locations in Dallas, Texas, left four people dead and 15 others injured, according to police. Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said the incidents occurred at separate locations across the city. Authorities are yet to establish what triggered the violence and are investigating whether the shootings are connected to an incident reported in the Deep Ellum neighbourhood. Police have also taken several suspects into custody in connection with the cases.
The shootings come amid reports of violent incidents in several parts of the United States during the Halloween weekend. Halloween is widely celebrated on October 31, with people dressing up in costumes, decorating homes with pumpkins and other themed items, and gathering for parties and festivities. The celebrations also involve significant spending on costumes, decorations and candy. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the Dallas shootings.
