Maya Tata’s move towards Trent? New discussion emerging

Maya Tata, daughter of Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata, is reportedly considering an exit from Tata Digital amid major restructuring and concerns over financial losses. Tata Sons has invested over ₹24,000 crore in the digital arm, which includes Tata Neu, BigBasket, Croma, and Tata 1mg, but the division has continued to struggle with profitability.

Following rising concerns over cash burn and strategy, Tata Neu recently reduced its workforce by nearly 50%. Maya Tata is now exploring leadership opportunities across other Tata Group companies, with indications that she may prefer joining Trent, the listed retail arm where her brother Neville is involved and her father serves as Chairman.
