

The government has reconstituted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with 18 new members from different fields of the entertainment industry. The newly formed board includes prominent personalities such as Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi, Suniel Shetty, filmmaker Priyadarshan, Pallavi Joshi and Roopali Ganguly. The move brings several experienced voices from cinema and entertainment into the film certification process.
Telugu cinema has also received representation on the new board, with producer Supriya Yarlagadda getting an opportunity to serve as a member. Supriya, who is associated with Annapurna Studios and has produced films including Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, will now be part of the board responsible for film certification in India.
