The Delhi High Court has refused to hear a petition seeking an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG re-examination and the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The court observed that the petitioner had combined personal grievances with broader issues concerning candidates across the country in a single petition. The bench said such mixed issues could not be examined together in the present form, following which the petitioner withdrew the plea.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia declined to entertain the petition on Wednesday. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre and NTA, rejected allegations of irregularities in the June 21 NEET-UG re-examination. He told the court that there had been no tampering of OMR sheets or other malpractice and maintained that the existing examination system was secure.
