The Film Federation has extended the ban on choreographer Jani Master amid the ongoing dispute within the Dancers Association. The federation clarified that the ban imposed on him earlier for allegedly engaging in activities against the federation will continue. The decision was announced at an emergency General Council meeting held recently. The council also expressed strong displeasure over the conduct of Dancers Association president Sumalatha.
The council criticised the conduct of a by-election in the Dancers Association without following the directions of senior industry members, the Producers Council and the federation. The Film Federation said it would no longer provide organisational support to the Dancers Federation but would continue to extend individual assistance to dancers. It also said support for the remaining 23 crafts would continue as usual and that Jani Master’s Rs. 3 lakh contribution to the federation would be returned.
