The Congress Working Committee (CWC) took several key decisions at its meeting in Delhi. The committee decided that only two stanzas of ‘Vande Mataram’, as sung in 1937, should be performed. It also passed a resolution opposing the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies and demanded that the existing strength of 543 Lok Sabha seats be retained.
The CWC also called for women’s reservation to be implemented within the existing Lok Sabha constituencies. It demanded an explanation from the Centre over China’s alleged encroachments. The party also decided to continue its campaign on student issues and the Ayodhya donation issue.
