Former BJP leader K. Annamalai has questioned whether major projects and opportunities are becoming increasingly concentrated in Gujarat. He remarked that “all the projects in the country are going to Gujarat” and said people in states such as Andhra Pradesh and Kerala are closely watching such decisions. He stressed that the Union government should ensure fair treatment and opportunities for people across all states.
Annamalai also referred to major international sporting events while discussing Gujarat’s growing prominence. Ahmedabad has officially been confirmed as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games, while India’s proposal to host the 2036 Olympics has not yet been awarded. Annamalai’s broader argument was that national development should remain balanced and every region should receive a fair share of opportunities.
