A case has been registered against former Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik in connection with an alleged CMR paddy diversion case. Khanapur police filed an FIR against her following a complaint by civil supplies officials. Rekha Naik is reportedly the owner of ARS Rice Mill in Sattenapalli, where around 9,000 metric tonnes of CMR paddy, valued at nearly ₹40 crore, was allegedly not accounted for.
District Civil Supplies officials had issued notices to Rekha Naik seeking an explanation, but she allegedly did not respond. Following this, officials approached the police. Based on their complaint, Khanapur police registered a case under various sections and began an investigation.
