Tata Sons’ Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for August 18, faces uncertainty after the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), a key shareholder, was unable to nominate its representative due to restrictions imposed by the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner. The restrictions have prevented the SRTT board from holding a meeting, raising questions over the quorum required for the AGM. Meanwhile, N. Chandrasekaran has already announced that he will step down as Tata Sons chairman in February 2027.
Separately, Tata Power has entered into a Master Research Agreement with IIT Bombay to accelerate research and innovation in next-generation energy technologies and clean energy solutions. The partnership will focus on the joint development, scaling and commercialisation of emerging energy technologies, strengthening industry-academia collaboration in India’s clean energy sector.
