Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has assured that the government will not obstruct legally owned private properties. He said the inclusion of private lands in the 22A prohibited properties list was largely due to old government orders, memos and land records that had not been uploaded online earlier. The issue is particularly prevalent in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and parts of Sangareddy districts. The minister announced that a high-level committee would be constituted to resolve the issue and said applications would be examined by the end of this month. He also warned of strict action against anyone misusing the 22A provision for illegal activities.
Ponguleti said 511 applications had been received from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 146 from Rangareddy, 49 from Hyderabad and 38 from Sangareddy, alleging that private properties were wrongly included in the 22A list. He also acknowledged errors in 325 eligible cases related to the Urban Land Ceiling and apologised for the inconvenience caused to the public. Citizens can approach the Tahsildar, RDO, Collector, Sub-Registrar or District Registrar, or call the toll-free number 1800 599 4788 for complaints and assistance. The minister said responses would be provided within three days and directed officials to expedite pending registrations.
