

Telugu states’ young chess talents Advaith Vignesh and Sharanya Devi impressed on the international stage at the Asian Junior Chess Championship. Hyderabad’s Vignesh won the Open section, while Guntur’s Sharanya Devi clinched the girls’ blitz title. At the tournament, which concluded on Monday, Vignesh finished level on points with Veeresh and Nandish but emerged victorious after securing the better score in the Super Tiebreak.
In the girls’ blitz category, Sharanya Devi finished at the top of the standings at the end of the final round to claim the championship trophy. Their performances have brought recognition to the young chess talent from the Telugu states and highlighted the growing strength of Indian junior chess on the international stage.
