Mobile users in India may soon face higher recharge costs as telecom companies are likely to increase tariffs in the coming 3 to 6 months, according to Gaurav Malhotra, Executive Director at Axis Capital. He estimates that the hike could be around 10%, indicating a moderate revision rather than a sharp increase.
Malhotra stated in an interview with CNBC-TV18 that unlike previous years, when tariffs were raised by 15–20%, this time the increase is expected to be more controlled. The adjustment is likely aimed at balancing industry revenue needs without putting excessive burden on consumers.
