The Karnataka Cabinet has approved an increase of ₹8 per litre in the price paid for milk, offering relief to dairy farmers across the state. The revised rates will come into effect on November 1. Of the additional amount, ₹7 per litre will go directly to farmers, while ₹1 will be allocated to dairy cooperative societies. With this revision, the amount received by farmers for each litre of milk will rise from ₹35 to ₹42. The decision is aimed at providing better financial support to milk producers and strengthening the dairy sector.
Including the existing government incentive of ₹5 per litre, farmers will receive a total of ₹47 per litre. The decision follows requests from members of various political parties seeking better financial support for dairy farmers. The price revision is expected to increase farmers’ earnings while providing additional support to dairy cooperative societies. Attention is now focused on the implementation of the revised rates and the benefits they will bring to milk producers.
