Despite ongoing global tensions, India’s marine product exports reached a record high in the last financial year (2025–26). According to the Ministry of Commerce, the country exported a total of 19.32 lakh tonnes of marine products during the financial year ending in March, valued at $8.28 billion (approximately ₹72,325 crore). This marks an 11.2 percent increase compared to the previous financial year. Shrimp exports accounted for the largest share, contributing $5.51 billion (around ₹47,973 crore). In value terms, shrimp exports grew by 6.35 percent, while volumes rose by 4.6 percent. Although exports to the United States declined slightly, strong demand from Europe and China supported overall growth.
Meanwhile, FMCG giant Nestlé also reported strong financial results. For the quarter ending in March, the company posted a net profit of ₹1,110.9 crore on consolidated revenue of ₹6,723.73 crore. Compared to the same quarter last year, profit increased by 27.18 percent. Total income rose by 22.73 percent to ₹6,766.24 crore.
