PM Modi Meets National Teacher Awardees

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the recipients of the National Teachers’ Awards this year. A total of 82 teachers have been selected for the national honours. During the interaction, Modi stressed the need for teachers to pay attention to students’ behaviour and remain vigilant about the growing risk of drug addiction among young people. He also urged teachers to help reduce excessive screen time among children.

Modi encouraged teachers to give greater importance to sports and creative activities and work with parents to reduce children’s mobile phone usage. He also called for teaching practical, real-life skills in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), so that students are better prepared to face challenges beyond the classroom.
