Key Alert for Train Passengers

The process of introducing an automatic block signalling system on the Kazipet–Balharshah railway section has reached its final stage. As part of the work, non-interlocking operations are being carried out for a 17-km stretch between Jammikunta and Pothkapalli. Due to these works, South Central Railway’s Secunderabad Division will completely or partially cancel several trains on the 10th of this month and regulate long-distance superfast express trains by 30 to 75 minutes, affecting several services.

On the 10th, train 17003/04 Kazipet–Sirpur Town and Balharshah–Kazipet Ramagiri MEMU Express will be completely cancelled. Train 17033/34 Bhadrachalam Road–Balharshah and Sirpur Town–Bhadrachalam Road Singareni MEMU Express will be partially cancelled between Warangal–Balharshah and Sirpur Town–Warangal. Train 17011/12 Hyderabad–Sirpur Kaghaznagar–Bidar Intercity Express will also be partially cancelled between Kazipet and Sirpur Kaghaznagar. Train 17233 Bhagyanagar Express departing Secunderabad on the 10th will be rescheduled by one hour, while trains 67771/73 Sirpur Town–Karimnagar and Karimnagar–Bodhan MEMU Passenger will also be rescheduled by one hour. On the 9th, train 22365 Danapur–SMVT Bengaluru Superfast Express will be regulated by 75 minutes and train 22366 SMVT Bengaluru–Danapur Superfast Express by 45 minutes. On the 10th, train 12622 Chennai Central–Sree Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman Tr-weekly Express will be regulated by 30 minutes, while on the 9th, the 12622 New Delhi–Chennai Central Tamil Nadu Superfast Express will also be regulated by 30 minutes.

The automatic block signalling system is already operational between Kazipet–Jammikunta and Mancherial–Sirpur Kaghaznagar. Work remains pending only in a few areas of Peddapalli district. After completing the Jammikunta–Pothkapalli section, railway officials are speeding up works between Pothkapalli and Peddampet. Once the automatic block signalling system is commissioned across the approximately 235-km Kazipet–Balharshah route, it is expected to improve train-handling capacity and reduce delays caused by signalling. The third railway line on this route has already been completed and put into service, and the new signalling system is expected to further benefit train operations.
