Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has made a bullish long-term prediction about Bitcoin. Speaking at Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, he said Bitcoin could eventually reach $1 million and suggested that the milestone may come much sooner than 25 years. However, he stressed that price alone should not be the focus and that widespread payment adoption, greater utility and institutional use will be more important for Bitcoin’s long term growth.
Zhao also said Bitcoin could surpass gold in market value during the next bull market. He noted that gold’s market capitalisation is still significantly larger, meaning Bitcoin would need substantial growth to close the gap. Bitcoin recently moved above the $80,000 level before easing back, while its August 30 India price was around ₹74.67 lakh.
Zhao expects the next phase of the crypto industry to involve not only Bitcoin but also stablecoins, tokenisation and artificial intelligence. He sees Bitcoin becoming more prominent as a long-term savings or reserve asset, while stablecoins could play a larger role in payments. He also expects AI and crypto to become increasingly connected, beginning with areas such as trading and eventually expanding into payments.
