ISRO is ready to launch the PSLV-C62 mission successfully today. This is ISRO’s first orbital launch of the year 2026 and the 64th flight of the PSLV rocket. The launch is scheduled for 10:17 AM from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The countdown has already begun and the mission is expected to last for about two hours.
For this mission, ISRO is using the PSLV-DL version with two strap-on boosters. The total weight of the mission is around 260 tonnes. The main payload is EOS-N1 (Anvesha), an advanced Earth observation satellite developed by DRDO. It will help in national security monitoring, agriculture planning, city mapping and environmental studies.
Along with the main satellite, ISRO is also launching 15 small satellites from India and other countries, including Brazil, Nepal, Thailand, Spain, France and the UK. A special highlight is Spain’s Kestrel Initial Demonstrator satellite, which will be used to test re-entry technology.
