India’s first tri-hybrid scooter has been developed by Jammu and Kashmir-based innovators Bilal Ahmad Mir and Binish Gulzar. The unique vehicle runs on solar power during sunny conditions, automatically switches to a petrol engine during cloudy weather, and also offers battery backup for energy efficiency. The scooter has been developed using their patented technology called Range Elevated Electric Scooter along with an Automotive Internet of Things (AIoT) system.
The innovators designed the scooter especially to benefit women and persons with disabilities. It features a movable seat that can be adjusted up and down with a switch, making it easier for users to get on and off. Equipped with GPS, sensors and cloud-based software, the vehicle allows real-time monitoring of performance and helps identify technical issues before they become major problems.
