The recent India AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi faced major controversies and logistical challenges. Galgotias University was removed from the event after it allegedly showcased a Chinese-made robodog as its own student innovation. Delegates also expressed frustration over long queues, heavy traffic, and even incidents of device theft, sparking criticism on national television and social media platforms.
Despite the setbacks, the summit witnessed an overwhelming turnout. Nearly half a million people visited the 123-acre convention and expo centre, reflecting strong public curiosity and enthusiasm for Artificial Intelligence. The massive footfall also led to a sharp increase in hotel prices across the city.
With more than 2,000 experts participating, even though only a few were widely recognized names, the event’s popularity highlighted India’s growing interest and ambition in the field of AI. The large crowds underscored how seriously the country is engaging with emerging technologies despite organizational shortcomings.
