

The controversy following the India A vs Sri Lanka A match in the triangular ODI series has intensified. After Sri Lanka A secured victory in the Super Over, a heated argument broke out between 15 year old Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sri Lankan player Vishen Halambage. The incident quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
Reacting to the episode, India A captain Tilak Varma criticized the behavior of the Sri Lankan players. He said he did not know every detail of the incident but claimed that Vaibhav was walking away calmly after the match when Sri Lankan players allegedly tried to provoke him. Tilak stated that such incidents are not good for cricket and do not help sporting relations between India and Sri Lanka.
The match itself was a thriller. India A were bowled out for 265 runs in 49.2 overs, while Sri Lanka A also scored 265/9 in 50 overs, resulting in a tie. In the Super Over, Sri Lanka A posted 16 runs, while India A managed only 10 runs, giving Sri Lanka a 7-run victory. The Super Over also witnessed controversy after umpires called the final delivery a no-ball, allowing Sri Lanka an extra ball that helped them reach 16 runs.
