Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been unanimously elected as the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) during the board meeting held on June 7. At the age of 37, he has become one of the youngest individuals to assume the top post in the board’s history.
Tamim, who had been serving as interim president since April after the government dissolved the board of directors, addressed the media following his election. He emphasized the need to overcome the crisis in Bangladesh cricket over the past 18 months and called for collective responsibility, transparency, and constructive criticism to restore the sport’s reputation. He also announced the election of Fahim Sinha as one of the vice-presidents, while plans for additional appointments are underway.
